Mothers Day, Ospreys & Dolphins May 2013

Moonraker headed out on Mothers Day to see the 2 Osprey nests and babies on navigational markers and look for dolphins. In the above photo, mom osprey was found sitting on her nest with her 2 babies which have gotten very large but still have not been seen flying. On the second nest we saw 3 baby ospreys which are about 7 to 10 days younger then the ospreys in the 1st nest. As we continued south back to the Vero Beach City Marina we spotted a dolphin pod which came over to visit Moonraker. When they got to Moonraker they spent a few minutes swimming with in inches of the bow. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of Mothers Day aboard Moonraker and these spectacular animals living on and in the Indian River Lagoon.

Moonraker headed north out of the Vero Beach City Marina for a 4 hour Scenic Sail & Dolphin Watch. As we got into the “Narrows of Vero” a couple dolphin pods where spotted. As the dolphins headed towards Moonraker, one of them literally tossed a large fish (what looked to be a snook) into the air. They continued towards Moonraker and began swimming back and forth with in 2 feet of the bow. When we got closer to the Wabasso Bridge we sailed slowly by 2 osprey nest on navigational markers where we watched baby ospreys beginning to stand up in their nest. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of this spectacular day aboard Moonraker.

Ladies Day Out Sailing With Dolphins April, 2013

These ladies got together and enjoyed blue sky, sunshine, dolphins, lunch and a great afternoon aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon. As we left the Vero Beach City Marina dolphins were spotted. The main sail went up as we headed north to see if any baby ospreys had hatched in a nest on a navigational marker. When we got there we saw a proud mom and dad osprey standing in the nest next to a newborn baby osprey. On the return trip we saw many more dolphin pods and two dolphins followed us in through the mooring field at the Vero Beach City Marina. It was a beautiful day for a sail and many photos where taken to captured the memories of a great ladies day out aboard Moonraker.

Scenic Sail & Dolphin Watching April, 2013

It was a beautiful day on the Indian River Lagoon with blue sky, sunshine and a light breeze out of the east. The main sail went up as we headed north. After 5 miles of sightseeing to the north Moonraker came about and we headed south to take a look at Quail Valley Country Club and Marina. Many dolphins were spotted along the way while guests soaked up the Florida sun and enjoyed a peaceful sail aboard Moonraker. A number of photos were taken to capture the memories as seen from aboard Moonraker.

This family gathered in Florida during their kids spring break and enjoyed a beautiful Scenic Sail & Sunset. With the main sail up Moonraker headed north into the “Narrows of Vero” where a number of dolphins were spotted. During the return sail the kids each spent a little time at the helm. As the sun started to set the winds became calm and Moonraker drifted slowly on the Indian River Lagoon as dolphins started swimming in the setting sun light as it glistened across the water. Atlantic Classical Orchestra raffle ticket winners,Peggy & Bud, won a afternoon Scenic Sail & Dolphin Watch aboard Moonraker. They brought some friends along and we headed north through the “Narrows Of Vero”. With the main sail up and engines off Moonraker sailed along at 5 MPH as these guests enjoyed the sights and spotted a few dolphins. This couple got together with their family aboard Moonraker for a Sunset Sail to celebrate their Anniversary. We headed north out of the Vero Beach City Marina with light east winds. When we got to the intercaostal waterway the main sail went up and the engines went off as guests enjoyed a leisurely sail north. On the return sail south Moonraker’s hostess put out a beautiful arraignment of food guests had brought along for their anniversary celebration. We continued south under the Barber Bridge and guest watched a beautiful Indian River Lagoon. Sunset. Many photos were taken to capture these family memories aboard Moonraker.

Dolphins, Appetizers & Sunset Sail March, 2013

What do you do in Chicago in the winter time... come to Vero Beach, Florida and take a Sunset Sail aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon. This family headed out with fruit, vegetables, shrimp, cheese, prosecco and whip cream to see dolphins, sail and watch a great Indian River Lagoon Sunset. Moonraker headed north for 6 miles as guests enjoyed watching a number of dolphin pods feeding in the Lagoon. When we reached Jones Fruit Dock on Jungle Trail the main sail went up, the engines went off and guests enjoyed their appetizers as we took a slow relaxing sail under blue sky and sunshine back to Vero Beach. We went under the Barber Bridge and watched a beautiful sunset through the palm trees. Many photos were taken to capture these great family memories aboard Moonraker.

What do you do when you have guests visiting Florida and a cold front comes with them? Mix up a batch of sangrias and board Moonraker for a Sunset Sail. As we headed out of the Vero Beach City Marina we watched a dolphin swimming between the boats in the mooring field. After 7 miles of sightseeing to the north along the “Narrows Of Vero” the main sail went up and we headed south sailing at 7 mph. A couple more dolphins were spotted on the return trip which included a sightseeing visit to the Quail Valley Marina and Club. As we headed out of Quail Valley Marina guests aboard Moonraker enjoyed an Indian River Lagoon Sunset. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of this family gathering in Florida.

Scenic Sail, Dolphins & Ospreys February, 2013

Moonraker headed north out of the Vero Beach City Marina to view 2 mother ospreys that are sitting on eggs in their nests which they built on navigational markers on the Indian River Lagoon. The main sail went up for the trip north and Moonraker was sailing at 7.5 mph. A number of dolphin pods were seen on the way north and when we got to the ospreys nests the mothers were there sitting on their eggs. In the next 7 to 10 days we will be seeing baby ospreys. On the return trip the dolphin pods we had seen were still there and we came to a halt as they swam up to and around the boat inquisitively watching the guests aboard Moonraker.

Ladies Day Out With Dolphins February, 2013

Three daughters and their mother boarded Moonraker for a 4 hour Scenic Sail & Dolphin Watch. When we got to the intercoastal waterway the main sail went up and the engines went off as we sailed north to “Hole In The Wall” reaching speeds of 8.2 MPH. When we arrived at “Hole In The Wall” the anchor was dropped and snacks and drinks were enjoyed on this beautiful sunny warm Florida day. On the return trip Moonraker stopped as a pod of dolphin put on a great show beside the boat. This sail was followed by a beautiful Indian River Lagoon Sunset. Many photos and videos were taken to capture these family memories aboard Moonraker.

Scenic Sail, Dolphins & Hammock February 2013

These friends got together to go out on a catamaran sailboat and enjoy the serenity of the Indian River Lagoon under sail aboard Moonraker. When we got to the intercoastal waterway the main sail went up and the engines went off as Moonraker headed north at 7.2 mph. While under sail guests enjoyed the comfort of the aft hammock. Just prior to heading south we reached an osprey nest on a waterway marker and observed a mother osprey sitting on her eggs. On the return trip we stopped and floated for 10 minutes as 2 dolphins put on a great show. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of friends enjoying time together aboard Moonraker on The Indian river Lagoon.

Moonraker’s main sail went up with a south wind as we headed north into the “Narrows of Vero” along John’s Island. After a scenic tour to the north the main sail was dropped and we headed back to view a spectacular sunset. As Moonraker approached the entrance to the Quail Valley Club and Marina the main sail went back up and we headed east into Old Riomar and Quail Valley Club and Marina. We came about in the marina and sailed west with the engines off as guests enjoyed a beautiful Indian River Lagoon Sunset. Dolphins, Manatees & Sunset January, 2013

After Moonraker cleared the boat mooring field at the Vero Beach City Marina 2 manatee where spotted swimming along the shoreline. When we got to the intracoastal waterway the main sail went up and we headed north through the “Narrows of Vero” where 3 more manatees and 2 dolphin pods were seen. On the return trip 2 more manatee where seen as well as 3 more dolphin pods. There was also a number pelicans, ospreys and great blue herons seen looking for their dinner in the Indian River Lagoon. As Moonraker slowly sailed back to the marina guests enjoyed a lagoon sunset. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of this exceptional day and sunset as seen from aboard Moonraker.

News Years Morning Dolphin January 1st, 2013

Moonraker headed out for a New Years morning sail and a mother and baby dolphin joined in at the bow of the boat. Guests looked on as the baby swam beside moonraker and looked up with that smile that only a dolphin can make. At the beginning of 2012 we had seen 3 separate mother dolphins swimming with babies. In October another baby was spotted that was so small it had to be recently born and just a few weeks ago guests aboard Moonraker witnessed the birth of a baby dolphin. This brings the mother baby combination up to five. The baby dolphins stay with there mothers for 3 years making mother baby dolphin spotting aboard Moonraker a very common event. Birth Of A Baby Dolphin! December, 2012

Guests aboard Moonraker got a rare opportunity to witness the birth of a baby dolphin on the Indian River Lagoon. Just after departing the Vero Beach City Marina a dolphin was spotted laying on the surface of the water and rolling to one side. As the dolphin moved to within 6 feet of Moonraker and rolled to its side, we saw a baby dolphin half way out of the mother. Ten minutes later we witnessed this baby dolphin swimming with its mother for the first time. After following these dolphin for a half mile, they headed south as Moonraker headed north towards a full rainbow with the main sail up. These memories made aboard Moonraker will be remembered for a life time!

This family got together aboard Moonraker to enjoy the sights along the Indian River Lagoon, see dolphins, watch a Lagoon Sunset and begin the celebration of Masters level college Graduation! Just after leaving the Vero Beach City Marina we came across a dolphin feeding in the lagoon. After spending some time following and watching this dolphin the main sail went up and the engines went off as we sailed to the north where another dolphin was spotted. On the return trip south Moonraker headed into the Quail Valley Marina and Club for more sightseeing and to view an Indian River Lagoon Sunset. Vero Beach’s Christmas Boat Parade Dec., 2012

Vero Beach’s Indian River Lagoon was alive with Christmas and beautiful lights during the annual Vero Beach Boat Parade. Guests aboard Moonraker relaxed and enjoyed cocktails as they waited for and watched the Christmas Parade of Boats go by. The cameras came out as happy memories of this Boat Parade were captured from aboard Moonraker.

4 Hour Birthday Sunset Sail November, 2012

This mom’s son booked a 4 hour after thanksgiving birthday party & Sunset Sail aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon with her husband, daughter and daughter in-law. It was a great day for a sail with blue sky, sunshine and 14 to 16 mph winds out of the north. As Moonraker headed north through the “Narrows of Vero” Pina Coladas were served with cheese & crackers, vegetables & dip and sandwiches. After cruising for about 9 miles Moonraker reached the Wabasso Bridge were two otters were spotted swimming along the shore. After watching the otters disappear in the safety of the Lagoon the main sail went up and Moonraker took a leisurely sail back to the Vero Beach City Marina. Many photos were taken to capture the very special memories of this birthday celebration aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon!

After being married on Vero Beach,s beautiful beach and with sand in their toes this couple boarded Moonraker with family members to continue to make great wedding day memories! We headed north with a brisk breeze to see and enjoy the many sites along the Indian River Lagoon. After about 7 miles of cruising the main sail went up and Moonraker headed south with the engines off and the sounds of the water rushing by. As we approached the Beachland Blvd. Bridge a pod of dolphins joined in as to wish this couple a happy life together. Together with the dolphins we all enjoyed a wedding day sunset as photos were taken to capture these wonderful memories.

Moonraker Sunset Photo Shoot November, 2012

Vero Beach’s Photographer Jill Douglas used Moonraker as a backdrop for a personalized photo shoot. The photo shoot was timed to catch the evening light right up to and including Sunset. Photos started as Moonraker pulled out of the slip and cruised through the Vero Beach City Marina’s mooring field. The nautical backdrop for this photo shoot was everything the photographer had hoped for. As Moonraker entered the Intercaostal Waterway the main sail went up and we slowly sailed south as clothing changes and photos continued. The last photos were taken as the sun was setting behind Moonraker 650 square foot main sail.

Moonraker was heading out of the Vero Beach City Marina with 2 dolphin pods swimming and feeding in the mooring field. On the return trip to the marina these 2 dolphin pods had moved out into the intracoastal area of the Indian River Lagoon. With the sails down and both engines off we floated in the water for 20 minutes as these 2 dolphin pods swam up and around Moonraker. This wonderful show, put on by the dolphins, was followed by another great Vero Beach Sunset. Many photos were taken to capture this unforgettable dolphin encounter and sunset!

Moonraker headed out of the Vero Beach City Marina into a 12 knot wind. After 7 miles of sightseeing and watching dolphins play the main sail went up and Moonraker headed back to watch a spectacular Sunset. On the trip back many dolphin swam up to and with Moonraker. These Kids Had Friday Off School October, 2012

These kids had an extra day off school and mom took them out on Moonraker for lunch and a swim party at Hole In The Wall Island. As mom played in the water a large manatee swam up to her. Later a pod of dolphin swam and played around Moonraker for over 30 minutes. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of this play day aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon.

Sunset Sail & 20 Minute Rainbow October, 2012

Questionable weather turns into a magical evening on the Indian River Lagoon. With black clouds to the south that were suppose to move east out over the ocean Moonraker headed out to the north for a Sunset Sail. After a 5 mile Scenic Cruise north the main sail went up and we headed south to watch the Sunset. To our surprise the storm that headed out over the ocean presented us with a full rainbow. The full rainbow was out for about 20 minutes which was the longest full rainbow that had ever been observed from aboard Moonraker. As we continued south towards the Beachland Blvd. Bridge a pod of dolphins was spotted and guests watch them catch bait fish along the shore. Many photos were taken to capture these family memories made aboard Moonraker on this magical evening.

Parents Visit To Vero Beach September, 2012

Moonraker headed out of the Vero Beach City Marina to the north with an 8 MPH southeast breeze. The main sail went up and guests immediately got some time at the helm. On the return trip we headed south to view Riomar Island homes and the Quail Valley Marina and Club. As we left the Quail Valley Marina the main sail went back up as we literally sailed into the Sunset. Many photos were taken to capture family memories aboard Moonraker.

Harvest Moonrise Sunset September, 2012

This months Harvest Moonrise Sunset over the Indian River Lagoon was spectacular. The western horizon cleared as the Harvest Moon started to rise as the Sunset in the west. The Harvest Moon is a very bright moon do to the angle of the moon and the sun. The above photo of the Beachland Blvd. Bridge was taken 15 minutes after Sunset, as Moonraker was returning to the Vero Beach City Marina, and the sky was still bright. For the next few days the Harvest Moon will brighten the sky well after Sunset.

These friends got together to enjoy a peaceful Sunset Sail aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon. Moonraker left the Vero Beach City Marina into light winds out of the north east. After a scenic cruise to the north, the main sail went up and Moonraker came about and headed south to view a spectacular Lagoon Sunset. With a 5 knot breeze and the main sail up, Moonraker peacefully drifted through the water as guests enjoyed a picture perfect Sunset. “Once In A Blue Moon” August, 2012

Moonraker headed out to view and enjoy August’s “Once In A Blue Moon”. Once every 2 to 3 years we have 2 full moons in one month. When this happens the 2nd moon is referred to as a Blue Moon. Hence, the term “Once In A Blue Moon”. The term “Blue Moon” refers to the 2nd moon in the month only and has nothing to do with the color of the moon. The next Blue Moon will occur July 31st 2015.
This was a spectacular night aboard Moonraker! Guest watched the Blue Moon rise (7:37pm) in the east as the Sunset (7:44pm) in the west. During the Sunset a dolphin did a slow pass in front of Moonraker and a Manatee came to the surface and gave a few nice waves with his big tail. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of this rare event aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon!

6 Hour Birthday Sail, Swim, Dinner & Sunset August, 2012

This Birthday Cruise started out with a 3 hour Scenic Sail aboard Moonraker. Following the Scenic Sail and watching a number of dolphins play, Moonraker was anchored at Hole In The Wall Island for a swim followed by dinner. After dinner the anchor was pulled and Moonraker headed back to Vero Beach where the sail went back up for a relaxing Sunset Sail complete with Birthday cake. What did these 4 kids do on summer vacation? They set the record aboard Moonraker for the most people in the hammock at one time! After a Scenic Sail and watching dolphins, the sky opened up for a Vero Beach, Indian River Lagoon spectacular Sunset. This made for a perfect ending to a great summer vacation as these kids were headed home the next day to get ready to go back to school. This wonderful family flew across the ocean to visit and enjoy Vero Beach, Fl. and its surrounding attractions. One of those attractions is sailing aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon which is home to more than 4,000 different plants and animals (over 1,000 plants and about 3,000 animals including more than 400 fishes and 300 birds). They enjoyed watching dolphins, pelicans, ospreys, great blue herons, great egrets, anhingas and more on the Indian River Lagoon. They also enjoyed the serenity of sailing aboard Moonraker, lunch and a swim at “Hole In The Wall Island”. Bachelorette Party Aboard Moonraker August, 2012

A friend of the bride booked a Sunset Sail Bachelorette Party aboard Moonraker. As we left the Vero Beach City Marina a dolphin pod immediately approached Moonraker and followed us for about a 1/2 mile as to wish the bride a happy wedding day and marriage. When we reached the intracoastal waterway the main sail went up, champaign was served and gifts were presented to the bride. On the return trip dinner was served as guests enjoyed a leisurely scenic sail back to the marina. Swim Party & BBQ @ “Hole In The Wall” July, 2012

When a local couple had relatives fly in from out of town they booked a swim party and BBQ aboard Moonraker. After leaving the marina we headed to “Hole In The Wall”. Hole In The Wall is an island with a beautiful anchorage that is a protected manatee area 5 miles north of the Vero Beach City Marina. After anchoring a float with a line was put out behind Moonraker, swim noodles were brought out and the grill was turned on. After a swim and BBQ lunch the anchor was pulled and the main sail went up for a leisurely sail back to the marina. Many pictures where taken to capture family memories aboard Moonraker.

Sunset Sail, Dinner & Sightseeing July, 2012

When a young pilot came to visit relatives in Vero Beach with his family he found himself aboard Moonraker. Moonraker’s helm and instruments along with the challenge of navigating the Indian River Lagoon proved to be irresistible. While he enjoyed the challenge of navigating under sail family members enjoyed dinner, sightseeing and a Vero Beach Sunset aboard Moonraker. It was a Vero Beach Independence Day to remember! Guests aboard Moonraker headed out for a spectacular evening which started out with a short Scenic Cruise before anchoring to enjoy dinner and drinks with an Indian River Lagoon Sunset. Shortly after Sunset the Memorial Island Fireworks began as guest got comfortable on the forward netting. As the fireworks were about to rap up with the grand finale the full moon started to rise above the horizon to the east. What a spectacular night to be out on the Indian River Lagoon. Dolphins, Dolphins & More Dolphins July, 2012

These family members from Illinois & Nebraska met in Florida for a family vacation which included a Scenic Sail & Dolphin Watch aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon. As we turned north on the intracoastal waterway 2 dolphin pods showed up on our starboard side. We slowed and watched these dolphin feed for about 1/2 mile along the shore line. After 7 miles of beautiful scenery and more dolphins the main sail went up and we headed back south. Many more dolphin were spotted and many photos were taken to capture these family memories aboard Moonraker.

Just after leaving the Vero Beach City Marina guests aboard Moonraker spotted a dolphin pod. As we slowed down to watch the dolphins a 2nd dolphin pod appeared on the other side of Moonraker and a few minutes later a 3rd dolphin pod was spotted on front of Moonraker. Guests were able to watch these 3 dolphin pods swim and feed for over 20 minutes. On the return trip the main sail went up and dinner was served as guests continued to enjoy the many sights along the Indian River Lagoon. Guests enjoyed 6 miles of cruising north through the “Narrows of Vero” before Moonraker came about to head back south. During the return trip, a fabulous home cooked meal was served in the aft cockpit. As Sunset approached a number of dolphin were spotted. Photos were taken to capture the memories of good friends enjoying a summer evening dinner sail aboard Moonraker.

Scenic Sail, Dolphins, Dinner & Sunset May, 2012

Friends got together to enjoy a 3 hour Scenic Sail, Dolphin Watch & Sunset aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon. Prior to the cruise, some of the guests made a wide variety of appetizers, and dinner entrees which were enjoyed during their Sunset Sail. The main sail went up and the engines went off as we headed north towards the “Narrows of Vero”. A number of dolphin were seen as guests enjoyed the many appetizers they had prepared. During the return trip dinner was enjoyed by all and more dolphins were spotted. As the sun started to set, Moonraker came to a stop and guests watch another beautiful Sunset over the Indian River Lagoon. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of good friends spending time together aboard Moonraker.

3 Sisters From The Netherlands May, 2012

These 3 sisters from the Netherlands get together once a year to spend some time together. They grew up with many boating experiences and today they were adding a 3 hour Scenic Sail & Dolphin Watch aboard Moonraker to their list of experiences. We headed north thorough the “Narrows of Vero” into a light wind. After watching a baby osprey in their nest, spotting a few dolphins and enjoying the scenery and lunch, the main sail went up and we headed back south. All 3 sisters took a turn at the helm and a few more dolphins were spotted. Then, to everyones surprise a pod of 8 dolphins was spotted in a back waterway that leads to the Vero Beach City Marina. For 1/2 hour and over 1 & 1/2 miles Moonraker sailed beside this dolphin pod. The 8 dolphins put on a great and graceful show and on many occasions swam right up to Moonraker. Many photos were taken as more great memories were made aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon.

Guests & Golden Retriever Take A Sail May, 2012

Guests brought their golden retriever along for a Scenic Sail & Dolphin Watch. I spent many years sailing with my golden retriever in the Bahamas and it was nice to see a dog enjoying the sites on the Indian River Lagoon with their owners aboard Moonraker. The main sail went up as we headed north in the intercoastal waterway through an area referred to as the “Narrows of Vero”. Many dolphins were spotted feeding in the lagoon and photos were taken to capture the memories.

Super Moonrise & Sunset May, 2012

The Super Moonrise and Sunset was viewed from aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon. The Moon started to rise in the east at 7:47pm and was bright orange as the Sun created a complimentary bright orange Sunset in the west at 7:58pm, just 11minutes after Moonrise. As the Moon continued to rise it changed from a bright orange to glowing white which created a beautiful reflection on the water. Many photos were taken to capture the memories of this spectacular event as seen and enjoyed from aboard Moonraker.

Moonraker headed out of the Vero Beach City Marina to the north as the main sail went up as we entered the intercoastal waterway. As we sailed north a few dolphins were spotted as guests relaxed and enjoyed the many sights on the Indian River Lagoon. An up close view of a mother osprey guarding here nest of babies was also seen. During the return trip guests took turns at the helm and we saw four more dolphin pods and a mother and baby dolphin, swimming together, which is pictured above. Many photos were taken to capture the many memories made aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon.

Birthday Scenic Sail & Celebration April, 2012

Great Birthday memories were made aboard Moonraker on the Indian River Lagoon! Three generations got together for a Birthday cruise and to sing Happy Birthday to a wonderful husband, father and grandfather! Many dolphin were spotted as the kids took turns learning to navigate at Moonraker’s helm. Relaxation time was enjoyed on the forward netting and in the aft hammock. Many photos were taken to capture these special Birthday memories aboard Moonraker.

Ten minutes after Moonraker left the Vero Beach City Marina a pod of dolphins appeared and we slowed down to a drift and watch them play. We had an east wind and the main sail went up as we entered the Intercoastal Waterway on the Indian River Lagoon. As we headed back south the main sail was left up and more dolphins were spotted. When evening came, the moon started to rise in the east as the sun slowly set in the west and more dolphins appeared. It was another spectacular Moonrise Sunset Sail aboard Moonraker. Many photos were taken to capture the moment.

Friends got together aboard Moonraker on a beautiful sunny day in florida for a Sail & Dolphin Watch. After spotting a number of dolphin on our 7 mile cruise to the north the main sail went up and we headed back south. During the sail back the kids took turns at the helm and more dolphin were spotted. A relaxing time was enjoyed by all and many photos were taken to capture the memories aboard Moonraker.

Spring Break! Scenic Sail & Dolphins March, 2012

This family came to Vero Beach for Spring Break and took a 3 hour Scenic Sail aboard Moonraker to look for dolphins. We headed north out of the Vero Beach City Marina and put the main sail up as we entered the intracoastal waterway. After a 7 mile Scenic Sail north 3 dolphins were spotted feeding. The main sail was dropped and we headed back south to watch the dolphins. As Moonraker came to a halt next to the feeding dolphins to pelicans began chasing the dolphins to compete for lunch IE: bait fish. A couple times the dolphins came right up to and under Moonraker. Many photos were taken as spring break family memories were made aboard Moonraker!

Sailing & Bird Watching March, 2012

The Indian River Lagoon is home to more than 3000 animals which includes more than 300 birds. This couple comes to Vero Beach to enjoy the birds on the Lagoon as well as a sail aboard Moonraker. As the main sail went up the winds picked up a little and the engines were turned off as Moonraker headed south at a leisurely pace. Moonraker’s crew-hostess learned the subtle differences between the cormorant and the anhinga, two birds that are often confused. It was another good day on the Indian River Lagoon making memories!

Moonrise Sunset Sail March, 2012

The Moonrise Sunset Sail takes place once a month the day before the full moon. On this night the moon will rise in the east as the sun is setting in the west. Guests aboard Moonraker enjoyed a cruise south out of the Vero Beach City Marina for about 5 miles then the main sail went up and we headed back north for a Sunset & Moonrise. As the sun was setting in the west the clouds in the east opened up and a spectacular moonrise was enjoyed by all as Moonraker slowly sailed back to the Marina.
